Jennifer Murdoch was born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. While
she is apt to travel just about anywhere, the maritime way of life attracts her to
coastline communities. In 2004, Jennifer completed her Bachelors degree from
Dalhousie University, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and is currently a graduate student
in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Victoria.
Professional interests include digital audio signal processing, multimedia,
applications of perceptual psychology to media analysis and rendering, "Web 2.0"
technologies, collaborative environments, educational and motivational technology,
and anything that can be used to excite young people with diverse backgrounds
about computer science and its applications. Outside her work, Jennifer enjoys all
forms of outdoor recreation, playing the flute, and avoiding the Harry Potter craze at
all costs.
