Kui Wu: Professor, PhD (U. of Alberta), P.Eng.


Welcome to the personal webpage of Kui Wu, in beautiful Victoria, B.C., Canada.

Kui Wu entered the Special Class for the Gifted Young of Wuhan University, China, in 1985. He received the B.Sc. and the M.Sc. degrees in Computer Science from Wuhan University, China in 1990 and 1993, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Computing Science from the University of Alberta, Canada, in 2002. He worked as a project manager in Haven Software Inc. from 1995 to 1998. He joined the Department of Computer Science at the University of Victoria, Canada in 2002 and is currently a Professor there. He was a JSPS Fellow at the University of Tsukuba, Japan (2009), a Visiting Professor at City University of Hong Kong (2009, 2019), and a Visiting Professor at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (2008, 2019).

He likes various racket sports, including tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, in the decreasing order of playtime. At weekends, he enjoys hiking along the beautiful coastline on Vancouver Island.
